This week we were very busy redesigning our class library. We decided we needed to sort our books into categories to make them easier to find. We also decided to have a favourite authors box, which includes Jon Klassen, Michael Rosen, Oliver Jeffers, Julia Donalsdon and Mo Willems.
After we sorted the books, we devised a sticker code system, to help us identify which books were which. Now, borrowing from our class library is VERY easy.
We have been working on our own 'About Me' books and have been writing about our favourite foods, toys and animals and the things that make us feel happy.
Here are some of the things we said:
Izabella: I feel good when I am with my classroom and with my friends and with my teacher.
Diana: I feel good when I hug my toy.
Georgia: I feel good when I see my mom.
Susan: I feel good when my dad says "it's tickle time!"
Giovanni: I feel good when I draw.
Rahma: I feel good when my mum and dad hug me.
We are so proud of what we have achieved!
We created a class survey about our favourite toys. We showed the results on a Pictograph. The results were close, but cuddly toys just beat lego to title of best loved toy.
The best part of our week was when we finally welcomed our friend Teppei to Grade 1. Our class community is nearly complete!
See you again next week for more fun learning experiences! :)
