Creativity - learning from the experts

In our quest to develop our own creative expression, we put a call out to all creators. We've been researching: how people express themselves creatively, what materials they use, where they get their inspiration from, and how they have become successful at creating. This week we visited grade 8 who performed their Filipinania dance for us. They then taught us some of their sequences - we showed ourselves to be impressive dancers.

A big thank you to Ricky, Itos' dad for coming in to show us your creative talent. We loved finding out about where and how you learnt the art of origami, and were extremely excited to have the opportunity to make our own pieces. Take a look at the fantastic foxes we made!

Finally, we visited a Grade 7-8 ArtSculpt class and saw how each person had turned a single word into a unique sculpture. We even had a go at making our own sculptures using Air-dry clay.

This week we have learnt so much about the different ways in which people express themselves creatively. We are bursting with new ideas of of how we want to be creative.
